Up the Hudson River

The weather did not start off great for us but we cruised up the Hudson. Our boat was very full and we had so much fun chatting with lots of people on our deck. We were surprised to find out that alot of the people on board were from New York. This was the 'fall foliage" tour and a lot of the locals take this every year with their families. So it was quite nice to chat with some locals and get there take on things. There were some funny moments where they spoke of the greenery and leaves turning - which couldn't possibly compare to BC Canada!
The tour guide was also very knowledgeable and explained lots of the bridge history and we passed by and major landmarks. One of the ones that was really intriguing was Sing Sing, the maximum security prison.
As we went further up river we got to the folliage, quite beautiful. When we got to our dock we discovered it was flooded and would have to go further up the river in order to wait for the tide to go down.
