Saltspring island

On the July long weekend we headed off to Saltspring - it was amazing! We were both Saltspring "newbies and after a very long ferry trip and having to pack our gear in for about 10 minutes we were ready to settle in and have a great long weekend. We decided to check out the Ruckle family farm which is part of the provincial park. It was awesome to see the orchard history of the island and most of the out buildings and main house in great shape.
We also took in the local Lavender festival! It was beautiful and I definately got up close and personal with my new favorite plant.
Of course some hiking was in order - the view was absolutely spectacular!!!

There wasn't much better than our campsite right on the ocean's edge.

Fraser Family Camping

The Frasers decided to go camping - we went just outside of Vernon at the most beautiful park - besides a little rainy weather we had a great time - even though Alex decided she wasn't ready for a full night in the wilderness.
